Blue

    Please note that no matter how hard I try, I cannot get these pictures to truly show how these gemstones appear in person, and in different lighting conditions. The picture, along with my honest efforts to describe them accurately, is your best guide in deciding whether it is for you.

   6.2mm Round. Light to medium light blue Ceylon. Very very clean. Excellent cut. Sparkles like crazy even under low light. A beautiful gem. 1.15 carats @ $90/ct.  $103.00 SOLD

Pink Sapphire

   Mostly from Ceylon, which is the colored sapphire capitol of the world. Most Ceylon sapphires have the reputation of being light in color, but there are some nice rich colors coming out of there. Especially the pinks, yellows and greens. I personally think Ceylon is the finest of sapphires, except for those magnificent blues from Kanchanibur in Thailand.

Yellow Sapphire

   Yellow sapphire can range from bright pastels to deep golden. It cannot be confused with citrine or other yellow gems, because of its high refractive index, and it's dispersion. Yellow sapphire can rival yellow diamond in overall performance. I will note the country of origin whenever possible.

Color Change Sapphire

Thailand

   These are very nice. Picked them up at the 2001 Tucson show. You gotta see it in person to appreciate the colors. Forgive the pictures. I tried to get them as close as possible, but with color change the lighting is everything. I mean, what light do you use?? Color change is from shades of mauve pink to magenta in incandescent light, shifting to light to deep blue lilac in diffused sun and fluorescent light. Cool. Please do not see these pics as a perfect reproduction of color. But I do guarantee a good shift. Color change is consistent with all of them.

   Some of the prices seem high. But they're not. This is not easy material to find, and is somewhat rare. Especially in larger sizes. Owning some is a MUST.
